Our editorial mission
VeriLots exists to help traders understand the real costs and risks that can affect CFD, forex and other leveraged trading decisions.
Our editorial mission is to make broker pricing, trading costs, spread behaviour, overnight financing, commissions, conversion costs and related risks easier to understand. We aim to present information in a way that is evidence-based, transparent, useful and fair.
VeriLots is not a broker, trading platform, investment adviser or portfolio manager. Our content is for information, education and cost-analysis purposes only. It is not investment advice, trading advice, legal advice, tax advice or a recommendation to trade.
1. Scope of this Editorial Policy
This Editorial Policy applies to VeriLots content, tools and data displays, including:
- broker-cost comparisons;
- broker profiles;
- calculator outputs;
- historical spread and swap examples;
- cost-audit pages;
- educational articles;
- methodology explanations;
- rankings or “lowest shown” results;
- newsletters or research notes, if published;
- data labels, warnings and explanatory text;
- broker links, calls to action and related commercial disclosures.
This policy explains how we seek to create, review, update and correct information shown on VeriLots.
2. Editorial principles
VeriLots aims to follow these editorial principles:
- Accuracy: We aim to use reliable data, clear calculations and careful wording.
- Clarity: We avoid unnecessary jargon and explain assumptions where practical.
- Fairness: We do not intentionally misrepresent brokers, costs, risks or trading conditions.
- Transparency: We explain our methodology, limitations and commercial relationships.
- Risk awareness: CFD and leveraged trading risks must not be hidden or downplayed.
- Independence: Commercial relationships should not determine analytical conclusions.
- User value: Content should help users make more informed comparisons, not push them into trading.
3. Editorial independence
VeriLots may have commercial relationships with brokers, partners, advertisers, affiliates or data providers. These relationships may generate revenue for VeriLots.
However, commercial relationships must not determine the calculated trading cost, displayed spread, swap impact, commission, net P&L impact, risk warning or methodology-based output shown to users.
Brokers, partners or advertisers must not be allowed to buy:
- a better cost result;
- a lower calculated trading cost;
- a higher trust or risk assessment;
- removal of a required warning;
- removal of relevant negative information;
- a false statement of regulation, cost, safety or suitability;
- a ranking position that contradicts VeriLots’ methodology.
Where commercial links are used, they should be treated as commercial links. They do not make a broker suitable, safe, low-risk or recommended for a specific user.
4. Affiliate and commercial disclosure
VeriLots may receive compensation when users click links, open accounts, sign up with brokers, subscribe to services, or interact with commercial partners. This compensation may include affiliate commissions, referral fees, sponsorship fees, subscription revenue, software fees, data licensing revenue or other commercial arrangements.
Commercial compensation may affect which brokers or partners are available for certain commercial placements, links or calls to action. However, compensation should not alter the underlying calculation of trading costs or the factual presentation of broker data.
A broker may appear on VeriLots even if we do not have a commercial relationship with that broker. A broker may also be excluded or de-emphasised even if a commercial relationship exists, especially where we believe there are material risk, regulatory, data-quality or user-protection concerns.
VeriLots may display broker links such as “Go to broker.” These links may be monetised. Users should not interpret such links as personal recommendations or as confirmation that a broker is suitable for them.
5. No personalised recommendations
VeriLots does not provide personalised broker recommendations.
A cost comparison, ranking, “lowest shown” label, broker row, cost-audit result or calculator output is based on a specific scenario, data set and methodology. It does not assess your personal financial situation, trading experience, objectives, risk tolerance, tax position, jurisdiction or legal status.
A broker that appears lower-cost in one VeriLots scenario may not be suitable for you. Cost is only one factor in broker selection. Regulation, jurisdiction, client-money protection, execution quality, withdrawal reliability, platform stability, account terms and your personal circumstances also matter.
You are responsible for your own decisions.
6. Broker selection and coverage
VeriLots may cover brokers based on factors such as:
- user demand;
- market relevance;
- broker size or visibility;
- available data;
- account types and platforms supported;
- instruments offered;
- regulatory status;
- data quality;
- commercial relevance;
- risk and user-protection considerations.
Coverage does not mean endorsement.
Not all brokers are covered. Some brokers may be unavailable because data is incomplete, stale, unreliable, commercially unavailable, technically difficult to obtain, or because we decide that coverage would not serve users well.
VeriLots may choose not to list, rank or promote certain brokers where there are material concerns about regulation, safety, transparency, user complaints, data quality, withdrawal issues or other risk factors.
7. Methodology and cost calculations
VeriLots focuses on trading costs and broker-cost transparency.
Our calculations may consider factors such as:
- spread;
- commission;
- overnight swap or financing charges;
- triple-swap or weekend rollover rules;
- account currency conversion;
- trade size;
- instrument;
- position direction;
- account type;
- platform;
- holding period;
- historical or live market data;
- broker-specific fee information;
- available source data;
- benchmark or comparison data where used.
VeriLots calculations are scenario-specific. A change in instrument, position size, account currency, trade direction, platform, account type, broker entity, opening time or holding period may change the result.
Where VeriLots displays labels such as “lowest shown,” “cost comparison,” “historical example,” “spread snapshot,” or “net P&L impact,” these labels refer to the specific scenario and methodology shown. They are not statements that a broker is best, cheapest, safest or suitable for every user.
8. Data sources and provenance
VeriLots may use data from a variety of sources, including:
- broker websites;
- broker platforms;
- public broker disclosures;
- regulatory information;
- stored broker data;
- historical spread or swap snapshots;
- benchmark market data;
- user-submitted information;
- internal testing;
- third-party data providers;
- direct broker relationships, where available.
We aim to record source information internally where practical. Public pages may display source labels, source types, timestamps, history IDs, “last updated” fields or other provenance indicators.
In some cases, the detailed source URL or raw data-provider reference may be recorded internally rather than displayed publicly. This may be done to avoid confusing users, exposing interim data-provider arrangements, or advertising third-party data sources, while still preserving internal auditability.
Data sources can be incomplete, delayed, stale, incorrect or inconsistent. VeriLots may normalise, clean, transform or interpret data to make comparisons possible. These processes can introduce limitations or errors.
9. Historical examples and live data
VeriLots may display both historical examples and live or recent data.
Historical examples are useful for showing how trading costs may behave under specific market conditions, such as volatile periods, news events or low-liquidity windows. Historical examples are not current live pricing and should not be treated as a prediction of future costs.
Live or recent data may still differ from the price, spread, swap, commission or execution available to you when you trade. Market conditions can change quickly.
Where data is live, delayed, estimated, stored, historical, unavailable or stale, VeriLots should label this as clearly as practical.
10. Updates and review process
VeriLots aims to update content and data when practical and material.
Updates may occur because of:
- broker pricing changes;
- account type changes;
- platform changes;
- regulatory changes;
- new data availability;
- user feedback;
- broker feedback;
- methodology improvements;
- error correction;
- product changes;
- legal or compliance review.
Some pages or data displays may update more frequently than others. Broker data and market data can change quickly. Users should verify important details directly with the broker before making any trading or account-opening decision.
11. Corrections policy
If VeriLots identifies a material error, we aim to correct it within a reasonable time.
Material errors may include:
- incorrect broker name or entity;
- incorrect account type;
- incorrect platform;
- materially wrong spread, swap, commission or fee information;
- broken or misleading calculation logic;
- incorrect regulatory information;
- outdated risk information;
- misleading wording;
- incorrect commercial disclosure;
- broken or misleading source labels.
Corrections may be made without prior notice. Where appropriate, we may add clarifying text, adjust labels, update methodology notes or remove data until it can be verified.
Users, brokers and partners can report potential errors by contacting: editorial@verilots.com
12. Broker feedback and right of reply
Brokers may contact VeriLots if they believe information about them is inaccurate, incomplete or misleading.
We may review broker feedback and supporting evidence. We may update content or data where we consider the evidence reliable and relevant.
Broker feedback does not guarantee that content will be changed. VeriLots retains editorial control over its content, methodology, warnings, rankings, data labels and user-facing explanations.
Brokers should provide clear supporting evidence, such as official fee schedules, platform screenshots, account specifications, regulatory entity details, execution policy documents or other verifiable material.
13. Conflicts of interest
VeriLots may have conflicts of interest, including:
- affiliate or referral relationships with brokers;
- paid partnerships;
- commercial data relationships;
- subscription revenue from users;
- ownership or business relationships connected to financial media or trading products;
- use of third-party data providers;
- commercial incentives to increase user conversions.
We aim to manage these conflicts by:
- separating methodology from commercial negotiations;
- disclosing commercial relationships where appropriate;
- not allowing brokers to buy better calculated outcomes;
- maintaining risk warnings;
- preserving internal source and methodology records;
- correcting material errors;
- using scenario-specific language rather than personal recommendations.
14. Use of AI and automation
VeriLots may use software, automation, data pipelines, scripts, AI-assisted tools or editorial assistants to help collect, process, draft, review or format content and data.
AI-assisted or automated output should not replace editorial responsibility. Human review should be used for material legal, compliance, methodology, ranking, broker-risk or public-launch decisions where appropriate.
AI and automation can make mistakes. VeriLots remains responsible for reviewing, correcting and improving its public content and tools.
15. Risk disclosure and balanced presentation
CFDs, forex and other leveraged products are high-risk. VeriLots should not present trading as easy, guaranteed, low-risk or suitable for everyone.
Where VeriLots discusses broker costs, trading costs, potential savings, lower-cost brokers or cost optimisation, the surrounding context should make clear that:
- lower costs do not make trading safe;
- lower costs do not guarantee profitability;
- historical costs do not predict future costs;
- broker comparisons are not personal recommendations;
- CFDs and leveraged products can lead to rapid losses;
- users should read broker risk disclosures and product documents.
Users should also read the VeriLots Risk Disclosure page.
16. Reviews, rankings and “lowest shown” outputs
VeriLots may display rankings, tables, broker rows or calculated outcomes.
These should be understood as analytical outputs based on a defined scenario, available data and methodology. They are not personal recommendations.
Where a broker appears as “lowest shown,” this means the broker had the lowest displayed cost or net P&L impact within that specific scenario and data set. It does not mean the broker is best overall, cheapest in all circumstances, safest, most suitable or recommended for the user.
Rankings and outputs may change as data, assumptions, broker conditions or methodology change.
17. Editorial and commercial separation
Commercial teams, affiliate partners or brokers may suggest content ideas, provide broker information, request corrections or ask for coverage.
However, final editorial decisions should consider user value, data quality, methodology, compliance risk and accuracy.
Commercial relationships should not require VeriLots to publish false, incomplete or misleading information.
18. User feedback
User feedback can help improve VeriLots.
Users may contact us about:
- suspected data errors;
- unclear wording;
- broker-cost discrepancies;
- calculator issues;
- missing brokers;
- outdated information;
- misleading labels;
- broken links;
- accessibility issues;
- legal or compliance concerns.
Feedback can be sent to: editorial@verilots.com
We may not respond to every message, but material issues may be reviewed and addressed where appropriate.
19. Limitations
VeriLots cannot guarantee that all information is complete, current or error-free.
Broker conditions, spreads, swaps, commissions, fees, platforms, regulation and account terms can change without notice. Market conditions can also change rapidly.
Users must verify important information directly with the relevant broker before opening an account, depositing funds, placing trades or relying on any cost estimate.
Use of VeriLots is subject to our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Risk Disclosure.
20. Updates to this Editorial Policy
